What is the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR®) credential? There are no CEUs (Continuing Education Units) available for the completion of the Cancer Registry Quiz. AHIMA and the National Cancer Association Registrar Association (NCRA) collaborated to create online learning to enhance opportunities for burgeoning cancer registrars, and to help students become eligible to sit for NCRA's Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification* exam. To become a certified tumor registrar, you will need to acquire at least an associate's degree, undergo job-specific training, and be certified by a national testing board. In the past, on-the- job training was the only form of education for a person who wanted to become a certified tumor registrar. NCRA's certification board - the Council on Certification - oversees the CTR exam administration and credential maintenance.
