In this role Browning is responsible for the management of several highly collaborative efforts to create new joint warfighting constructs and doctrine.
Mr. Thomas Masiello is the Director of the Adaptive Capabilities Office. He strategizes across DARPA’s technical offices to accelerate transition of breakthrough DARPA technologies into capabilities for the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, other Federal agencies, and private-sector partners. The Adaptive Capabilities Office (ACO), works in close partnership with the military services to focus on pathways to address critical national security challenges.

DARPA occasionally stands up temporary special projects offices focused on coordinating, developing and/or deploying advanced capabilities on an accelerated time scale. These efforts fall outside of DARPA’s typical program structure and leverage the Agency’s unique organization and skill sets to make rapid progress in technology areas that are critical to national security.
